## 01 How the site is built

Pages are real text, not pictures of text, so they can be read aloud, resized and translated. The exception is the figures in our articles, which are images; each has a written description and a caption. Body text is 16px.

Before every release, a check measures the contrast of the text on every page in both the dark and the light theme, and a page with text below 4.5:1, or below 3:1 for large text, does not ship. The check reads text on solid backgrounds; it does not yet measure text over a photograph or the edges of buttons and fields.

Every link, button and form field is built to be reached with a keyboard, in the order it appears on the page, with a visible focus ring.

Images that carry information have a written description, and decorative ones are hidden from screen readers. Every page has one main heading that says what it is.

Motion is brief and never required. When your system asks for reduced motion, animations stop and the page shows its final state.

Forms have visible labels, and an error says which field and what to fix.

For a procurement questionnaire: we design to WCAG 2.2 Level AA, and the contrast check above runs in our build rather than in an annual review. The site does not meet every Level AA criterion yet; the gaps we know of are listed below.

## 02 Known gaps

On the six case-study pages, some text over the top photograph (the line above the title, the link back to all case studies and some of the tags) falls below 4.5:1 contrast at some screen widths.

The edges of form fields are fainter than the 3:1 contrast WCAG asks of a control.

On a phone zoomed to 200%, the menu's pinned button cannot hold its label.

A screen reader that enters one of the main menu's panels does not hear which panel it is in.

Each line comes out when its fix ships.

## 03 What may not work

Our videos are hosted on YouTube. Where their captions are automatic they can be wrong; ask us for a transcript.

Some pages we link to, such as a manufacturer's documentation, are run by other companies, and we cannot promise how they work.

## 04 Tell us

If any part of the site is hard to use, write to legal@unifiedit.tech with the page and what happened. We read every message and fix what we can in the next release.

If email is the barrier, call the main line: (239) 299-9008.
